An Oireachtas committee is going to investigate the National Broadband Plan.
TDs and Senators, among them Kildare North Fianna Fáil deputy, James Lawless, will look at the process that's led to the cost of the project rising to three billion euro.
They're expected to take 8 weeks to come up with the best way forward for the plan.
Sinn Féin's Communications Spokesman Brian Stanley thinks the contract should be given to the ESB rather than a private company:
