A construction organisation's comparing the delay to a major Cork road project to the National Children's Hospital fiasco.
Transport Infrastructure Ireland and the contractor have failed to agree a price for the upgrade of the Dunkettle Interchange.
Last year Sisk won the contract for the project, which was initially budgeted for 100 million euro, but it's now going back to tender.
More than 100,000 vehicles use the interchange every day.
Tom Parlon, the director-general of the Construction Industry Federation, says the delay to the upgrade is a scandal.
