Listen: Gardai Say Some People Are Joining Anti-Face Mask Protests To Provoke Civil Unrest.

: 09/16/2020 - 12:08

Gardai say some people are joining anti-face mask protests seeking to provoke civil unrest.

Two protests have taken place in Dublin, in August and last Saturday.

Violence was reported at both, and Gardai are investigating the assault of a counter protestor at last weekend's rally.

Izzy Kamikaze, on social media, says she was struck with a piece of wood wrapped in a tricolour.

Liam Herrick is Executive Director of the Irish Council of Civil Liberties.

Speaking to Kildare Today, he says Commissioner Drew Harris is right to be concerned.
