Some B&Bs across Ireland are making up to 740-thousand euro a year providing emergency accommodation for the homeless.
There's been a 140% increase in the amount of money spent in Kildare housing homeless families in hotels, hostels and B&Bs over the past four years.
The Irish Independent reports the figure in Kildare in 2016 was €976,559 and has risen to €2.4m.
More than 276 million euro has gone to private providers like hotels and hostels across ten counties
