Listen: 6,000 People Sign Petition Calling For Reduction In Newbridge Train Fares.

: 11/16/2018 - 11:31

6,000 people have signed a petition, calling for reduced train fares for Newbridge commuters.

The town's train station is just outside the Short Hop Zone.

A one-way ticket to Dublin from nearby Naas/Sallins, using a Leap Card, is €3.75.

From Newbridge, the same journey costs €15.

Ciara O'Reilly is a Labour representative in Newbridge.

She says stations elsewhere, a similar distance from the city centre, have been included in the Short Hope Zone.
