Three of the four Irish provinces play their first games in this season's Heineken Champions Cup today.

First up, Ulster have made the trip to The Rec to play Bath in Pool 3.

Last year's beaten finalists Leinster have Jonathan Sexton and Jordan Larmour back in their side for the visit of Benetton to the RDS.

And Keith Earls makes a first appearance since the World Cup when Munster open their Pool 4 campaign away to Ospreys from 5.30pm.

In the Energia AIL this afternoon, Naas play Shannon in Division 1B, while in Division 2A, MU Barnhall are away to Queens University.

Both games kick off at 2.30pm.

The Republic of Ireland know a win of any kind against Denmark on Monday will seal qualification for Euro 2020.

For 77-minutes last night it looked as if Ireland would need a two-goal win at the Aviva with Switzerland and Georgia drawing 0-0.

But a Cedric Itten goal saw the Swiss win 1-0, which means Ireland's task is simple.

Denmark beat Gibraltar 6-0.

Northern Ireland need a win this evening to hold any hope of qualifying for the Euros from Group C.

Michael O'Neill's side welcome the Netherlands to Windsor Park.

In Group E, Wales need a win away to Azerbaijan and hope Croatia do them a favour at home to Slovakia.

Scotland's hopes of automatic qualification are long dead, but they travel to Cyprus in Group G today.

In Women's Super League Basketball, Leixlip's Liffey Celtics face Maxol WIT Wildcats this evening.

Tip-off at the Leixlip Amenities Centre is at 7pm.

There's an eight-race card at Punchestown this afternoon.

The first goes to post at quarter-past-midday.
