The object which sparked the attendance in Rathangan of the Army Bomb Disposal Team today has been described as a "non-threat".
The team's assistance was requested by Gardai this morning, following reports of suspect object in the vicinity of the post office at the Old Mill on Main Street.
The team examined the device on site, and adjudged it "non-viable".
The scene was released at around 10am.
