Police in the US admit a man who shot dead five work colleagues was legally barred from owning a gun.
45 year-old Gary Martin opened fire at a warehouse in Aurora, west of Chicago, after being told he was fired from his job.
He had a conviction for assault, which should have required him to surrender his firearm.
Last night a local church held a vigil for the grieving families of those killed.
