Sunday pm Sport Wrap: Kildare Hurlers Lose; Camogie & Ladies Football Win; FA Cup Results

: 02/17/2019 - 18:23

Kildare hurlers lost their first game of this year’s Division 2B Allianz League yesterday.

Derry beat them in Newbridge by 21 points to 1-16

In Division 1A, All Ireland champions Limerick beat Kilkenny by 2-18 to 15 points

Wexford beat Tipperary by 1-15 to 1-14.

In Division 1B, Galway beat Dublin by 20 points to 1-11.

Kildare senior Camogie team began their league with a comfortable 2-14 to 1-2 win over Tyrone in Hawkfield.

In the Leinster Ladies minor football championship, Kildare  hammered Offaly by 2-22 to 2 points in Castlemitchell.
Wolves, Crystal Palace and Swansea City are into the FA Cup quarter finals.

Woves beat Bristol City 1-0 at Ashton Gate.

Republic of Ireland international Matt Doherty set up Ivan Cavaleiro to score the winner in the 28th minute.

They will be joined in the last 8 by Crystal Palace, who won 2-0 at Doncaster, and Swansea City, who were 4-1 winners over Brentford.

In the Scottish Premiership, Scott Brown scored a late winner for champions Celtic who won 1-0 at Kilmarnock to go 8 points clear at the top of the table.

Brown received a second yellow card for his celebrations and was sent off.

Last year's Aintree Grand National hero 'Tiger Roll' was a shock winner of the Grade 2 Boyne Hurdle at Navan.

Sent off an unfancied 25 to 1 shot, jockey Keith Donoghue guided the 9 year old to a 4 length victory, part of a 4 timer on the card for trainer Gordon Elliott.

The Henry De Bromhead trained 'Chris's Dream' landed the other Grade 2 race on the card, the Ten Up Novice Chase at a price of 5 to 2 under jockey Rachael Blackmore.

Reminder: Monday morning’s Kildare Today at 10.45 will review yesterday’s Kildare GAA team performances.  Monday evening’s Kildare Scoreboard from 6.25, with Eoin Beatty, will review all the rest of the weekend Kildare sport: results, reports and interviews.
