Thurs Lunch Update: Lahinch Golf Club Will Host the 2019 Dubai Irish Open & Sacked Offaly Football Manager Claims Backing of Players

: 05/17/2018 - 12:51

Lahinch Golf Club and Links in County Clare has been named as the venue for the 2019 Dubai Duty-Free Irish Open.

Paul McGinley will host the event which will be held just days before the British Open in Portrush.

The Flogas Irish Open begins today in Royal County Down Golf Club.  Naas golfers Robert Brazil and Jonathan Yates are in action.

Offaly County Board removed Stephen Wallace from his post as county senior football manager last night.

The Kerry native has been relieved of his duties following Sunday's shock Leinster Championship defeat to Wicklow.

Wallace claims he had the full backing of the squad.

He also refutes the County Board's claims that his dismissal was due to a 12 week suspension for an incident during a Kerry intermediate club game.
