Former Justice Minister Alan Shatter has told the Disclosures Tribunal that he never heard a single allegation of impropriety against Maurice McCabe in the Dail.
The Tribunal has previously heard that there was gossip about Sergeant McCabe around the corridors of Leinster House.
Mr Shatter said he had a brief conversation with former Commissioner Martin Callinan about an allegation of a sexual nature against Maurice McCabe but that it wasn’t a major issue and the DPP had said there was no basis for prosecution.
Mr Shatter says when he met Ms D who made the allegation against Sgt McCabe, he wasn’t in a good place and he found her stress distressing.
