: 08/17/2018 - 10:53

Recently-crowned European Champion gymnast Rhys McClenaghan was last night honoured by his local council.

His gold-medal winning performance in Glasgow a week ago was marked by a special reception in Newtownards.

The 19-year-old competed on the pommel horse and is the first Irish gymnast to win a European medal.

Rhys told Q Radio the next time he goes to the Town Hall - he wants to bring the world title with him.
