Sanchez Agrees Personal Terms With Utd & Moorefield’s Ross Glavin is Manager of the Month

Alexis Sanchez will become Manchester United's highest-paid player if his move from Arsenal goes through after agreeing personal terms.

According to reports, United have offered Sanchez a four-and-a-half-year contract worth €30m annually, before tax, which would make him the top-earning player at the club.

With a transfer fee, signing-on lump sum and an agent's fee added, the overall cost would be €170m should the transfer happen.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has described the transfer “as likely”.

Wenger says he is prepared to take Henrikh Mkhitaryan in exchange.

The Republic of Ireland women's side isin the Azores for the first of two friendlies with Portugal this week.

Ireland and Ulster flanker Chris Henry has hit out at Munster's recruitment of Gerbrandt Grobler, describing it as unacceptable.

The South African lock failed a drugs test in 2014 and served a two year ban.

He was presented with the award in Moorefield for the club’s achievement in winning the Leinster final against St. Loman’s.

Moorefield play either Corofin of Galway or Fulham London Irish in the All Ireland club semi final on Saturday, February 17th; time and venue to be confirmed.

The latter pair play their semi final in London next Sunday.


Rory McIlroy has carded a 3 under par opening round at the HSBC Championship in Abu Dhabi, to lie three shots behind leader Tommy Fleetwood.

It is McIlroy's first tournament since taking a break in early October to recuperate from a rib injury.
