
A new citizenship process has temporarily opened today due to Covid-19 restricting in-person ceremonies.
A signed statutory declaration can be now be exchanged for a certificate of naturalisation.
Around 4,000 people have not been able to receive a certificate of naturalisation due to the temporary suspension of citizenship ceremonies.
There are currently more than 24,000 applications being dealt with by the Department of Justice.
