: 06/19/2018 - 13:18

Tying the knot could lower your risk of stroke and heart disease.

Researchers have found that those who are single, divorced or widowed have a 42 per cent higher chance of developing cardiovascular disease.

The study published in the Heart journal also revealed that not being married increased your risk of dying from heart disease by 42 per cent and stroke by 55 per cent.

Researchers have suggested that marital status should now be considered as a risk factor for these conditions.
