Intel Yet To Decide Which Of Its Plants Will Be Affected By 12,000 Job Cuts.

: 04/20/2016 - 10:56

Intel says it has yet to decide which of its multiple plants worldwide will be affected by 12,000 job cuts.

The American chipmaker has announced a restructuring programme aimed at making it less dependent on the personal computing market.

There areover 4,500 people employed at its R&D facility in Leixlip; that plant focuses mainly on advanced technologies.

In a statement this morning Intel Ireland says it can't provide site specific information as of yet - but that the global job losses are expected to come in the form of voluntary and involuntary departures between now and mid 2017.
