Minister of State, Martin Heydon, has noted additional secondary schools places, across the southern part of the county, is a priority for him.
The Kildare South TD said there is significant demand for school places at second-level in Kildare town, Newbridge & Kilcullen areas – where many schools are operating close to capacity.
Minister Heydon notes work has begun on a new school building for St. Paul’s, Monasterevin, but continues to impress upon his Ministerial colleague, Norma Foley, about the importance of progression on extensions for Newbridge’s Patrician Secondary School, the Cross & Passion, Kilcullen & Athy Community College, as well as progress on the Curragh Post Primary project, which is awaiting final site selection.
