Weds a.m. Update: Walters To Continue International Career

Jonathan Walters wants to continue playing for the Republic of Ireland.

There was speculation that the 34 year old would follow Wes Hoolahan and Daryl Murphy into international retirement.

In Turkey last night however, manager Martin O'Neil revealed that the Burnley striker intends to play a part Ireland's Euro 2020 qualification plan.

Walters will miss Friday's international friendly against Turkey due to a knee injury.


Leinster could be handed triple injury boost ahead of their Champions Cup quarter final against Saracens.

Sean O'Brien, Rhys Ruddock and Luke McGrath are on course to be fit for the Aviva Stadium game on Sunday week.

O'Brien injured his arm during the recent draw with the Scarlets.

Ruddock has been out since December following a hamstring tear.

McGrath has been recovering from a knee problem.


The GAA has confirmed that the final round of National Football League games will all be played this weekend.

Relegated Kildare play table toppers Galway in Newbridge.

The weather-delayed National Hurling League quarter finals between Wexford and Galway, and Dublin and Tipperary will be played across the coming weekend.

The League final has been moved to April 8th.

Portlaoise has been confirmed as the venue for Saturday's All Ireland Club Hurling final replay between Na Piarsaigh and Cuala at 5.30.

The AIB All-Ireland Senior & Intermediate Club Camogie Finals which were postponed due to the recent severe weather will take place this Saturday in St. Tiernach's Park, Clones.

In the Intermediate Final, Johnstownbridge play Athenry @ 1.30pm

In the Senior Final: Sarsfields (Galway) v Slaughtneil (Derry) @ 3.30pm
