Two Amateur Boxing Clubs Have Been Made Homeless In The Last 48 Hours.

: 05/21/2020 - 10:32

Amateur boxing in Ireland is facing a massive crisis after two clubs were made homeless in the past 48-hours.

St. Teresa’s in Bray say the premises they’d been using was sold without them being informed.

St. Teresa's is the home club of Regan Buckley, who won bronze at the 2019 European Games.

It has launched a petition, calling for support for finding a permanent base.

While Tullow in Carlow have also been left seeking a new home after a rent freeze was denied.

Tullow, in a statement, say " We are all devastated as you can imagine but unfortunately it is out of our hands. Everything we have done has been on a voluntary basis "

It's believed more clubs across Ireland will face similar fates in the coming weeks.
