It’s a major weekend again for Kildare men’s and ladies’ teams

The minor footballers play Meath today at 2pm in the Leinster final in O’Connor Park, Tullamore.

The team was announced yesterday and is on our website.

***Kfm will have commentary of today’s final; join Pat Costello and Ger McNally from 1.45pm.



Tomorrow, the senior footballers play Galway in the Super 8 in St. Conleth’s Park at 2pm.  The team was announced last night and is unchanged from last Sunday.

The 2014 champion is four-under par after a second successive round of 69. He tees off at 3.40pm

Americans Zach Johnson and Kevin Kisner share the clubhouse lead on six-under

Paul Dunne is two-over and tees off at 11am

Padraig Harrington misses out on eight-over.

Shane Lowry missed his fourth successive Open cut, ending up at five-over while Darren Clarke finished 23-over.


It's been a disappointing day for Ireland's sevens teams at the World Cup in San Francisco

Both the mens and womens sides were defeated in the early hours of this morning

The girls in green were beaten 45-0 by New Zealand at the quarter final stage - but still have fifth place to aim for when they play Russia tonight.

Ireland's men lost 45-7 to South Africa in the last 16 of the competition - they'll face Kenya in the Challenge Quarter-Final tomorrow.



Today is Oaks Day at the Curragh, where Aidan and Joseph O’Brien, along with Dermot Weld and former Kildare star Willie McCreery all have runners in the feature at 5.30pm.
