Members of Ireland's largest public sector trade union, Forsa, have backed the new public pay agreement.
Out of the more than 39,000 ballots that were returned, nearly 38,000 members voted in favour of the deal.
The union's General Secretary, Kevin Callinan, says the agreement would underpin stability in the delivery of public services this year and next.
