Listen: Teachers Want Smaller Class Groups To Enable Teaching In A Pandemic.

: 22/10/2020 - 15:26

Teachers want smaller class groups, extra staff and more space in schools to counter any increased risk of Covid-19 due to the current high number of cases.

The findings are part of a survey of 1,500 members of the Teachers Union of Ireland on health and safety issues.

71 percent of respondents say the increased staff allocation as a result of the pandemic is not enough to meet requirements.

TUI President, Leixlip resident, Martin Marjoram, says despite health fears, his members want their schools to stay open.
