
Ireland's transport emissions are the fourth highest per capita in the EU.
Experts will also tell an Oireachtas committee today the country's transport emissions grew by 136 per cent between 1990 and 2019 - compared to the EU average of 20 per cent.
The committee will discuss how Ireland can reduce its emissions by 51 per cent by 2030.
Former chair of the Climate Change Advisory Council, John Fitzgerald, says immediate action is needed to reach that target.
