A Kildare councillor has expressed concerned over the approval of 251 residential units in Celbridge.
The units received planning permission from An Board Planeala. They are planned for the area between Oldtown Rd and Shackleton Rd in the town.
Councillor Brendan Young says he is concerned that planning has been rushed through and that issues raised by people with local knowledge have not been addressed.
“This is unacceptable. There's already a huge problem with traffic. We need more buses, especially for commuters."
Even if this development goes ahead, says Young, no more development should be permitted until a Local Transport Plan is ready to be implemented.”
He also raised the issue of flood risk in the area.
