Kildare County Council approved 53% of all Rebuilding Ireland homeloan applications in 2018 and 2019.
The Dept. of Housing Scheme is intended to enable first time buyers who have been refused mortgages by two lenders to access credit.
The Housing Agency acts as a central support for all local authorities in their consideration of applications and will issue recommendations on approval or rejection.
In Kildare in 2018, 173 applications were submitted and 87 were approved.
32 applications were lodged last year, of which 22 were approved.
The data was obtained by Sinn Fein TD, Eoin O'Broin, through a parliamentary question.
