
Permission is being sought for an up-grade of the infrastructure in Millennium Park, Naas, to cater to two new keynote developments.
The business park is already home to Kerry Group, the HSE, Kennedy Security, Show Jumping Ireland, the Irish Wind Energy Association and 31 other organisations.
Millennium Properties LP has lodged an application with Kildare County Council, seeking permission to extend an existing internal carriageway, construction of a new vehiclar entrance to facilitate Boran Plastic Packaging, which is seeking planning permission for a 5,200 square metre development. (Kildare County Council Planning Ref. 20/840).
Millennium Properties is also seeking leave for road and water infrastructure to support Classic Technology Ltd, which is seeking permission for a two storey lab on the site.
Kildare County Council is due to hand down a decision on January 30th.
The development description is as follows:
(a) Extension of the existing 7.3 m wide two-lane carriageway by 137m to the north; (b) Provision of a 2m grass verge, 2m cycle path and 2m footpath along the east and west of the proposed access road extension; (c) Provision of a vehicular entrance to the west of the proposed extension to facilitate a proposed access to a planned commercial development (Kildare County Council Planning Ref. 20/840); (d) Provision of a vehicular entrance to the east of the proposed extension to facilitate a proposed access to a planned commercial development (Kildare County Council Planning Ref. 20/561); (e) Provision of surface water, foul drainage and watermain services along the 137m length of proposed extension which shall serve a further future road extension to the north and shall connect to the existing 900mm dia Millennium Park surface water sewers to the north west; (f) Provision of a raised shared tabletop on the existing internal road to the south at the entrance to the permitted Kildare County Council Planning Ref. 07/500092 Osberstown Developments Limited 189 car parking space temporary car parking serving existing Block D9; (g) Upgrading 475m of the existing 2m wide footpath to the south of the proposed extension to incorporate new 2m wide cycle tracks and 2m wide footpaths either side of the road with associated uncontrolled crossings and the provision of all associated road markings and signage
