A Kildare senator has committed her support to ex-Debenhams staff.
Several ex-Debenhams staff are continuing to picket the Newbridge premises.
They are operating a 24 hour protest against the redundancy package offered by the firm's liquidators.
Over 1,600 at 11 stores lost their jobs when Debenhams Irish arm closed.
Staff say the company has the resources to pay statutory redundancy and 2 weeks per year of service.
