Italian President, Sergio Matarella, has announced the country's Prime Minister has resigned.
Giuseppe Conte survived two confidence votes in parliament last week.
But, Mr. Conte lost his absolute majority in the Senate, after centrist ally Matteo Renzi defected.
The former Prime Minister has been asked to stay on in a caretaker capacity.
