Planning permission has been refused for almost 70 new homes in Derrinturn.
Landport Estates Ltd sought leave 68 homes on a site at Cluain Dara.
The application noted "The parent planning permission for the ongoing development of these lands was approved under Planning Ref. No. 06/253 and duly commenced"
Kildare planners have declined to grant permission, but the firm may appeal this decision to An Bord Pleanála, if they wish.
The development description is as follows:
Residential development comprising of 68 No. units consisting of a mix of tenure of one, two and three bedroom units as follows: (a) 28 No. semi-detached, two-storey 3 bedroom houses on sites 99-106 inc. and 115-134 inc. (Type D1). (b) 8 No. terrace houses in 2 blocks of 4 units, two storey 3 bedroom houses on sites 107-114 inc. (Type D2). (c) 8 No. semi-detached, single storey 2 bedroom houses on sites 135-142 inc. (Type D3). (d) 24 No. terrace houses/maisonettes in 3 blocks of 8 units consisting of 4 No. 3 bedroom two storey terrace units and 4 No. 1 bedroom end of block maisonettes (unit over unit) on sites 143-166 incl. (Type D4). (e) All associated site development works, part of the ongoing development at Cluain Dara, Derrinturn, Co. Kildare. (f) Landscaping, screen planting and redevelopment of partially commenced internal site works. The parent planning permission for the ongoing development of these lands was approved under Planning Ref. No. 06/253 and duly commenced
