Siptu says it has received assurances that 400 staff at the Proctor and Gamble plant in Newbridge will be retained on the same terms, once the facility's sale is completed.
The union represents 280 of the workers.
The P&G plant opened in 1984, and is being sold to a subsidiary of an Indian firm called Mapaex.
The deal, due to close in the New Year, includes a ten-year agreement to continue making razors and toothbrushes for P&G's brands.
