Temporary Speed Limit In Effect On Sections Of The M4, Westbound.

Temporary speed limits have come in to effect on sections of the M4, westbound.

Kildare County Council says it applies in the  townlands of Kilmacredock, Grangewilliam, Moneycooley

Speeds will reduce from 120km/h, to 80 kilometres per hour, and then 60km/h.

It is to facilitate resurfacing works on the motorway.

The temporary limits will be in place until July 24th.

First Schedule

Roads in respect of which a Road Works Speed Limit Order of 60 kilometres per hour is prescribed;

A section of M4 in the townlands of Kilmacredock, Grangewilliam, Moneycooley

M4 Westbound

    Part of the Westbound M4 between a point 650 metres west of the existing R405 overbridge to a point 295 metres east of the existing Junction 8 East overbridge (Total 8000 m in length).
    Part of the Westbound M4 diverge at Junction 7 from the start of the diverge taper to a point on the diverge ramp 170 metres east of the stop line of the diverge off-ramp at Junction 7 (Total 400m in length).
    Part of the Westbound M4 merge at Junction 7 from a point 100 metres west of the start of the merge on-ramp at M4 Junction 7 to the end of the merge taper (Total 500m in length).

Second Schedule

Roads in respect of which a Road Works Speed Limit Order of 80 kilometres per hour is prescribed;

A section of M4 in the townlands of Kilmacredock, Grangewilliam, Moneycooley

M4 Westbound

    Part of the Westbound M4 between a point 150 metres west of the existing R405 overbridge to a point 650 metres west of the existing R405 overbridge (Total 500m in length).
