The Minister for Equality has said he wants a roadmap for replacing direct provision by the end of the year.
Addressing the flaws in the asylum-seeker accommodation system was a key win in the programme for government for the Greens.
The Minister in charge Roderic O'Gorman has said a white paper spelling out how to do that will be ready by the end of the year.
He also doesn't foresee difficulty with working with the Department of Justice, which formerly had responsibility for direct provision:
