The government has discussed the possibility of a high speed train between Cork, Dublin and Belfast with Ministers in Northern Ireland.
The North - South Ministerial Council was convened today in Dublin Castle for the first time since 2016.
Brexit, COVID and travel access to the island were discussed.
Sinn Féin's Deputy Leader Michelle O'Neill said a meeting of the British Irish Council is also needed to discuss travel between Ireland and the UK:
