"Fighting" his sexuality for years
Australian Josh Cavallo has come out as gay, making him the world's only known gay professional soccer player, actively playing.
In an emotional video, posted by his club Adelaide United, the 21 year-old explained growing up he was ''ashamed'' he wouldn't be able to play the sport he loves and be gay.
He noted he had been "fighting" his sexuality for 6 years.
The midfielder praised the support of family, friends and coaches who've made "the experience of coming out incredible''.
