5 people shot dead on Thursday in Plymouth

The British Home Secretary has stated anyone applying for a gun licence will have to undergo medical checks, including a mental health assessment.

Questions remain over why Jake Davison had a shotgun licence.

Mr. Davison shot 5 people last Thursday, in Plymouth, England.

The victims included Davison's 51 year-old mother, Maxine, 3 year old Sophie Martyn, & her father, Lee, 43, Stephen Washington, 59 & 66 year-old Kate Shepard, who died in hospital.

A 33 year-old woman & 53 year-old man were also injured in the shooting, before Mr. Davison turned the gun on himself.

Questions remain over why Davison, 22, held a shotgun licence - the weapon was removed from him last year over an allegation of assault.

An inquiry into the police force which gave him his licence and gun back has been launched.
