Decrease in daily cases

The Primer Minister of New Zealand says the majority of the country will move out of lockdown tomorrow.

The highest levels of restrictions, Level 4, were introduced 3 weeks ago following an outbreak of the Delta variant of Covid-19.

A male tested positive for the virus variant in mid August, in Auckland.

However regions outside of the capital Auckland will now move to alert Level 2 from midnight, after a slowdown in daily case numbers.
