North Korea has announced the country's first Covid-19 infections, over 2 years into the pandemic declaration.

State media says the Omicron variant has been identified, with the outbreak being described as a "grave national emergency".

The country's leader Kim Jong-un has called for Covid-19 measures to be raised to maximum levels.
