668 people past away in the week to 27th August
The number of weekly Covid-19 deaths registered in England and Wales has climbed to its highest level, in 5 months.
Official figures show 668 people, who passed away in the 7 days to the 27th of August, had Covid-19 mentioned on their death certificate.
An increase of almost a fifth on the previous week.
Of the deaths registered in the week ending 27 August 2021 (Week 34) in England & Wales, 668 mentioned #COVID19 on the death certificate (6.5% of all deaths).

The latest number is relatively low compared with previous waves.
There were 10,268 deaths in England and Wales registered in the week ending 27 August 2021 (Week 34).
