Follows the firing of 800 members of staff
The Chief Executive of P&O Ferries has confirmed employees, who are replacing 800 staff fired last week, will be paid as little as £5.15, per hour.
Peter Hebblethwaite has confirmed the figure in evidence to a committee of British MPs, investigating if the redundancies were legal.
Mr. Hebblethwaite says without the redundancies, as a business, P&O Ferries would have to had closed
He confirmed unions were not consulted before staff were dismissed without notice - but says they will be compensated:
