"Catastrophic" levels of hunger
Countries such as Somalia and Yemen are at risk of famine due to "catastrophic" levels of hunger.
The latest Global Index, which looked at data from 136 countries, found nine countries have 'alarming' levels of hunger.
The report is jointly published by Irish humanitarian organisation Concern Worldwide and a German charity.
Réiseal Ní Chéilleachair, Head of Advocacy at Concern, says the war in Ukraine is having a huge impact:
The 2022 Global Hunger Index launches today & shows global progress towards eradicating hunger has largely stagnated in recent years - with up to 828 million people undernourished in 2021. #GHI2022 @Welthungerhilfe
