Steve Bannon, former White House Strategist, during Donald Trump's tenure, has been sentenced to four months behind bars.
Bannon, of Irish descent, has been sentenced for contempt of the US Congress - defying a subpoena.
Mr. Bannon has additionally been charged €6,500 in fines.
A US Congress Committee has been investigating the riots on the 6th January, 2021, at the Capitol Building in Washington.
The judge has allowed Bannon to stay free - pending an appeal.
