Deadline is tonight
The UK government is urging EU citizens living in Britain to sign up to a new settlement scheme, before tonight's deadline.
The scheme will grant settled status to those who can prove they have lived in the UK for at least five years.
Irish people are exempt from the scheme.
There are concerns regarding difficulties with the application process, with the British Labour party calling for a time extension.
Professor Michaela Benson, an expert in public sociology, says there are huge consequences if the cut-off is missed:
