Permission granted by Cumbria County Council
A public inquiry will get underway in England later, into plans for the UK's first deep coal mine in 30 years.
Planning permission had been granted by Cumbria County Council.
But the British government has decided to look closer at the proposal.
Campaigners argue the project will undermine the UK's credibility on the climate crisis.
