90 soldiers
The Governor of Massachusetts, Charlie Baker, has activated up to 250 members of the National Guard to help drive school buses.
90 soldiers will take up their new posts today, to address chronic staffing shortages across some school districts in the state.
However, the members will only be trained to drive vehicles that can carry up to 10 people.
Massachusetts is among the worst affected as the shortage has hit areas across the United States.
The safe and reliable transportation to school each day is critical to our children's safety and education.
