Schools in Wales will be able to set their own rules on facemasks and self-isolation, depending on how widespread Covid-19 is in their local community.
The Welsh government will publish a guide to help institutions decide when to tighten or ease restrictions.
They can consider the risks to staff and students' health when they go back into classrooms in September.
