Housing charity Threshold supported 234 renters in the county, during that 3 month period
Between July & September housing charity Threshold prevented 27 households in Co. Kildare entering homelessness.
During that 3-month period, the charity supported 234 renters in the county.
In the first 9 months of 2022, Threshold assisted 110 renters in Kildare who had received a notice of termination from a landlord.
In 64% of those cases, the landlord was choosing to sell the property.
Ireland
Nationally, landlords selling contributed to Threshold receiving approximately 1,400 calls from tenants facing eviction.
The charity noted 60% of national calls were related to landlords issuing notices to quit, due to the sale of a property.
The charity's latest report estimates an average of 472 private renters per month, sought assistance in the first nine months of the year.
An eviction ban is currently in place until next April.
Leinster
In terms of Leinster, during the third quarter Threshold supported 5,058 renter - 3,833 of which were in Co. Dublin.
The charity prevented 667 households within the province, entering homelessness.
