326 Children In The Kildare Area Yet To Be Allocated A Social Worker.

3,577 children in the Statewere without an allocated social worker at the end of April.

326 children in the Kildare/West Wicklow/Dublin South West HSE area are without an allocated social worker.

The information was released to Kildare North Sinn Féin TD, Réada Cronin, by Tusla, in response to a Parliamentary Question.

It shows that, in all, there were still 3,577 children in the State without an allocated social worker at the end of April this year.

Deputy Cronin says “The State is awash with reports full of expensive gobbledeegook about “learning curves” or “learnings” as they are more recently called, but it can’t get the basics right when it comes to our children. There are still 3,577 children left high and dry  - 326 in our own area - without the allocated social worker they need.

“We simply have to do better by our children and to do so will require changes of attitude and priorities in government about what actually matters: the optics or the reality on the ground. Who can matter more than our children?
