The Minister for Housing confirmed theunding has been put in place to support its earliest possible delivery.
Funding has been confirmed for 34 age friendly homes at Dominican lands in Athy.
The Minister for Housing that he has confirmed funding approval for Kildare County Council to work with Cluid Housing Association to advance 34 age-friendly social homes on the Dominican lands in Athy.
The Minister went on to say that funding has been put in place to support its earliest possible delivery.
Labour Senator Mark Wall commented: “This is another very positive step forward for the Dominican lands.
"One of the biggest needs in Athy and South Kildare is for Age friendly social housing.
"I have visited a similar size housing complex in Dublin to the one being proposed and run by Cluid in Athy.
"These housing units will ensure that those of age needing 1 and 2 bed accommodation can be accommodated in the town and in a modern and secure setting," he added.
