That's according to a One in Four study.

An advocacy group say more than 85 per cent of victims of child sexual abuse won't engage with the Criminal Justice System.

One in Four, an advocacy group for child sexual abuse survivors, say there are still many barriers that face them when going through the courts.

The group work with almost 800 clients every year, and help approximately 35 survivors go through Criminal Justice System a year.

It says the stigma around abuse is a big factor for those considering engaging with the system.

Maeve Lewis, CEO of One in Four, joined Clem Ryan on Friday morning's edition of Kildare Today.
