The review, initially paused, will examine files of over 300 residents.
The HSE is reopening an investigation into rape and abuse allegations against former healthcare assistant, Emmanuel Adeniji, convicted of raping a 73-year-old resident with Alzheimer's.
According to the Irish Independent, Adeniji, who lived in Royal Canal Court, Kilcock, is also also suspected of abusing 21 other women at the nursing home.
He was jailed for 11 years in 2020 for the rape of the resident during the Covid-19 lockdown.
Social workers suspect additional victims during his 16 years there.
The review, initially paused, will examine files of over 300 residents, with families being consulted due to deaths or cognitive impairments.
Gardaí require formal complaints to proceed.
The HSE is preparing for the next phase, while a report on the HSE's safeguarding policies is being reviewed.
It is expected more cases of alleged abuse of women residents will emerge, given the strong suspicions that Adeniji was a serial offender who preyed on women residents with cognitive impairment, unable to report him or, if they did, would not be believed.
